True Worship From A Sincere Heart
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." -Matthew 15:8-9
"Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." -John 4:21-24
Overview:
Worship as to do with our spirit's relationship with God. We have to first establish a relationship with God by inviting Christ Jesus into our lives as Lord and Savior. Now we have a relationship established with God. Thus, as we worship, we do this through our regenerated spirit, given to us after accepting Christ as stated above. Our spirit worship the Lord as we sing worship song, appreciate Him in our heart, praying to Him, declaring His glory, and exalting His name in our life.
- Philippians 3:3 - For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
- Isaiah 2:8-Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
- Exodus 34:14 - For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
- Psalms 29:2-Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
